Essential Oils for Warts

Oh no, you have a wart. While it’s unpleasant and people don’t commonly talk about them, they are more common than most people think. It is estimated that at any given time one in every four people has warts.

Shocking, right? Not so much considering most of them are mainly harmless. The main problem is that they can be frustrating, disfiguring, and extremely hard to treat.

Even worse, warts are viral; and that means they are contagious. They can quickly spread from someone else to you or vice-versa. So be a good friend and make sure you address them ASAP.

Warts and being social

Not only are warts contagious but they’re honestly not the prettiest beauty mark out there, especially when they appear on the face, hands and other visible body parts. So, much as they may be harmless, you’re definitely better off without them.

What to do?

Using essential oils for wart removal is one fantastic and effective way of saying good riddance to them, fast. Both straightforward and effective, we have outlined all the essential oils that treat the blemish and how you can use them effectively.

What are warts?

These are small growths caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Though there are more than 100 strains of HPV, only a few of them are responsible for causing warts. Unfortunately, because HPV is so preventant in society, its commonly said that everyone gets warts at least once in their life.

This is because some types of HPV are extremely contagious. It can be transferred from direct touch, or even by sharing an item like exercise equipment or hand towel with an infected person. Thankfully most people live without any signs or symptoms of being affected, and it is not something they have to worry about at all.

Warning signs of warts

Warts don’t have any obvious symptoms. Many people can carry the virus but if they have healthy immune systems, never show any signs or develop warts. The down side of this is that means you won’t know a wart is going to appear until it shows up. At that point the only remedy is treatment.

The following risk factors will increase your chances of getting warts:

  • Use of communal facilities, e.g., locker rooms
  • Drugs and diseases that weaken your immunity
  • Skin trauma
  • Coming into contact with other warts or affected fluids

Types of Warts

  1. Common Warts – These warts are common on the back of your hands and toes. They are usually small and rounded at the top with a rough texture.
  2. Plantar Warts – These are exclusively found at the sole of the feet. They grow inwards and look like a small hole surrounded by hardened skin on the outside. They may look harmless, but they are the most difficult to treat. Some plantar warts can also make walking a harrowing experience.
  3. Flat Warts – These mostly appear on the arms, thighs, and face. They are small and can appear yellow, brown or pink.
  4. Filiform Warts – Unfortunately these most commonly appear on facial areas such as the nose, chin, neck, eyes, and mouth. They usually are small and resemble skin tags.

Treatment

Essential oils offer a natural treatment remedy that doesn’t involve having to bandage, burn, or surgically remove any parts of yourself.

It may just be me, but I’m always going to opt for the pain free method before exploring other more invasive options.
