Hi Deb! Great question. Two oils immediately come to mind when you’re saying you’re looking for a nice soft fragrance that also helps you sleep at night. My first recommendation would be doTerra’s Serenity blend- https://essentialoildiffuser.io/reviews/doterra-serenity-oil/ which is specifically designed to help calm the mind, lure you to sleep, and get rid of any tension you may be feeling throughout the day.

My second pick, lavender. You can look at the benefits and uses here https://essentialoildiffuser.io/product-type/lavender-oil-uses-and-benefits/

I totally agree with you that a humidifier type seems to be the way to go to make sure there is some moisture in the air. Depending on where you’ll be using it, here are our top recommendations for aromatherapy humidifying diffusers https://essentialoildiffuser.io/diffuser-type/humidifier/
