Get Your Smooth Skin Back With These Essential Oils For Stretch Marks
Do you know that more than 25 percent men and 55 percent women suffer from stretch marks?
The condition doesn’t cause any medical problems, but for those experiencing this condition, you certainly know how embarrassing, annoying, and distressful it can be.
What are stretch marks?
Stretch marks are a common skin disorder characterized by narrow lines appearing on the surface of the skin. They occur in areas where the skin has been stretched, hence the name. They are common in the areas where fat is stored such as:
- upper arms
What causes stretch marks?
These marks are caused by sudden body growth and weight gain. Do keep in mind they are normal and can, therefore, affect any person.
Below are the common causes:
1. Pregnancy: 8 out of 10 pregnant women have been found to have stretch marks
2. Generic inheritance: In most cases, if your mother had stretch marks, you’re most likely to have them
3. Puberty: It’s due to the increased rate of growth
4. Rapid weight gain
5. Inappropriate or prolonged use of corticosteroids
6. Other: also caused by syndromes such as the cushing’s syndrome and the Ehlers-Danlos syndrome
This sudden growth causes the middle layer of the epidermis to break making the underneath layer visible.
These marks are pink or dark depending on your skin type at their early stages, but they later turn to whitish silver.
These changes in our skin tend to have an impact on us not just physically but also mentally. Thankfully there are natural oils for stretch marks in the form of essential oils. A good choice as they don’t have side effects compared to other possibly harmful creams.
