Citronella OIl

Citronella oil has a natural and fragrant oil which is why it’s used in room fresheners, beauty products, candles and even as an insect repellent.

The oil is extracted from the leaves and stem of the Asian grass plant, Cymbopogon nardus. The oil is also known for its antifungal and antibacterial properties.

Great insect repellent

Probably the best known insect repellent that is effective in preventing head lice and effectively repels mosquitoes that have been known to spread dengue fever and Zika virus.

Uses: For best results and relief from insects, mix with water for an easy to use spray, or add a couple drops into a container around your windows or doorways.

Effective pain and inflammation reducer

Citronella oil contains compounds with antioxidant capabilities that help reverse oxidative stress and fights free radicals that cause diseases and cellular damage.

Its antioxidant properties also make citronella oil great for reducing inflammation and joint pain.

Recipe: Just mix a few drops of the oil with a carrier oil like coconut oil and massage on aching joints, muscles, and tissue for relief.
