Clove oil is known for both its medicinal and culinary benefits and is extracted through the steam distillation. It is used extensively in Asian cooking and is known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and immune boosting properties.
Clove oil is very popular as a remedy for toothaches and is also effective at treating dry sockets. Research has proven that the oil helps slow down tooth decalcification and even helps re-mineralize teeth.
Application: For best relief, just put a few drops on some cotton and apply directly to the gums around the tooth in question.
The oil can be diluted with coconut or olive oil if you find it too potent.
Helpful for hypertension and heart health
Research has revealed that the eugenol in clove oil may help provide relief from high blood pressure by dilating major arteries and reducing systemic blood pressure levels.
Clove oil also contains acetyl eugenol that may prevent the clumping of platelets in the blood, which in turn may help reduce the risk of heart attacks.
Beware: Clove is a natural blood thinner, so it’s not advised to combine it with other blood thinners.
Application: For best effects, dilute with coconut oil and apply on your wrists.
